Currently, the increasing number of divorces and marital dissatisfaction in various societies, especially in Iran, indicates the need to pay serious attention to premarital counseling as an effective solution to reduce social harms and strengthen the foundation of the familyAccordingly. This study was conducted using thematic analysis. In this study, 15 experts and activists in the field of family counseling were selected using purposive sampling.Open The findings of this study show that the requirements for premarital counseling in Iran can be categorized into three main themes:1-Clarifying marriage criteria: Examining the couple's individual and cultural expectations, beliefs, and values to reduce future misunderstandings.2Clarifying marriage criteria: Examining the couple's individual and cultural expectations, beliefs, and values to reduce future misunderstandings.3-Raising awareness among couples: Providing essential education about marital rights, family responsibilities, and life skillsThe results of this study emphasize that premarital counseling is not only a preventive measure, but also a social necessity to reduce divorce rates and increase satisfaction with married lifeHowever, numerous structural, cultural, and implementation challenges, including the lack of unified standards, traditional resistance, and limited access to specialized services, have presented the premarital counseling process with serious obstaclesThis research suggests that by developing well-documented educational programs, extensive cultural awareness, and support from policy-making institutions, an effective step can be taken in institutionalizing premarital counseling in Iran.

AbstractThis study aimed to identify the factors contributing to couples’ reluctance to have children and to examine the influence of their emotional maturity on this decision. Employing a qualitative approach and a phenomenological methodology, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 12 couples who had consciously decided not to have children. Participants were selected based on predetermined inclusion criteria from the cities of Tehran and Isfahan in 2024. Thematic analysis, following Braun and Clarke’s (2006) framework, was used to analyze the data. The analysis revealed three Central categories, nine Main categories, and 47 subcategories. Key findings highlighted that insufficient emotional regulation skills, limited resilience and sense of responsibility, and poor couple relationship quality were among the most significant factors associated with the reluctance to have children, all closely related to the couples’ levels of emotional maturity. The results suggest that, beyond social and economic influences, couples’ emotional maturity plays a pivotal role in their childbearing decisions. Accordingly, the development of intervention programs aimed at enhancing emotional maturity—particularly emotional skills, resilience, responsibility, and relationship quality—appears essential.

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Marriage Enrichment Program for Couples’ Transition to Parenthood on tolerance and relationship maintenance in couples undergoing the transition to parenthood in Yasuj. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with pre-test, post-test, and follow-up phases, including a control group. The study population comprised 88 individuals (44 couples) in the transition to parenthood who attended the Shahid Ashrafi and Shahid Madani health centers in Yasuj. From this group, 60 participants (30 couples) who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were randomly assigned to experimental (n=30) and control (n=30) groups. Participants completed the Relational Maintenance Strategy Measure (Stafford & Canary, 1992) and the Tolerance Scale in Spouses’ Relations (khojastehmehr et all, 2020) across three phases: pre-test, post-test, and follow-up. The experimental group attended eight 90-minute sessions of the couple relationship enrichment program, Data were analyzed using repeated-measures analysis of variance. Results indicated that the Parenting Transition-Based Couple Enrichment Program significantly improved relationship maintenance strategies (F= 36/08, P < 0/001) and tolerance (F = 28/27, P < 0/001) in the experimental group compared to the control group, from pre-test to post-test and follow-up. These findings suggest that the Marriage Enrichment Program for Couples’ Transition to Parenthood is an effective method for enhancing relationship quality and tolerance among couples transitioning to parenthood.

The present study aimed to investigate the effect of life skills training on the multidimensional adaptability and responsibility of new students entering male the dormitory of Zabol University. The study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test, post-test, and control group design. The statistical population included all new male students entering the dormitory of Zabol University who were studying in the academic year 1403-1404. And their number was 468 people. The statistical sample consisted of 30 people. The sampling method was a multi-stage cluster random method, in which 15 students were randomly assigned to each group from the sample. The data collection tools were the Sinha and Singh Social Adaptation Questionnaire (1993), Lewis Responsibility (2001), and the instructions for life skills training sessions (Teacher's Guide, written and compiled by Emami Naini, (2011)..The findings showed that training in self-awareness, decision-making, and communication skills was significant for each of the variables of students' multidimensional adaptability and responsibility (P<0.001). As a result, this study clearly showed that life skills training, including self-awareness, decision-making, and communication components, has a positive and significant effect on promoting adaptability (emotional, social, and educational dimensions) and multidimensional responsibility (self and others) of new male students in the dormitory of Zabol University.

The present study aimed to explain the psychological and spiritual components of family resilience in the conditions of war between Iran and Israel. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach and using the grounded theory method.The study population was Tehran families living at the time of the war, who were interviewed using purposeful and theoretical sampling with 19 families. The data analysis method used was Strauss and Corbin's systematic method, The results of this study showed that the creator-centered ontology with the axes of (the creature's continuous influence from the creator; giving meaning to the philosophy of life; the crystallization of moral values) is a causal condition of family resilience; existential and conscious resistance with the axes of (existential responsibility; social participation and Jihadi action; redefining family rules in war conditions; rereading collective identity) family resilience strategy; historical insight of resistance with the axes of (extensive information resources; mythologizing martyrs and successful models; transferring wisdom) a factor in creating family resilience; managing media discourse with the axes of (agency in arranging news and controlling the limits and quality of news) a mediating factor in creating and maintaining family resilience; family balance and cohesion based on the context of collective resistance with the axes of (cooperation and alignment of parents; rebalancing in the family system; education focused on maintaining the health and growth of children; positive impact on social interactions; collective peace and promotion of social cohesion and national unity with religious patriotism) was the consequence of implementing the strategies.

Orphaned and abandoned children growing up in a loveless and unsafe environment are endangered, facing social, mental, and ethical crises. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of art therapy with a humanistic approach on the theory of mind and self-concept of the orphaned and abandoned children in Isfahan. The research was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The statistical population was made up of 7- to 12-year-old orphaned and abandoned children in Isfahan. The samples have been collected in a convenient manner among 3 orphanages located in Isfahan, and at least thirty-two 7- to 12-year-old children were put in control (16 children) and the experimental group (16 children). The theory of mind test (1999) and children's self-concept scale (1963) were used as pre- and post-tests. Ten 90-minute sessions were held for the experimental group, with homework in every session. The results were analyzed by multivariate analysis of covariance and Pearson correlation methods using SPSS 26 software. The results show that art therapy with a humanistic approach has a meaningful effect on the self-concept and theory of mind of orphaned and abandoned children. In addition, there is a meaningful relationship between the theory of mind and the self-concept of these children. The results indicated that using art as a humanistic therapy can be a good foundation for therapy based on child, environment, and therapist cooperation and improve the self-concept and theory of mind of orphaned and abandoned children.

The aim of the research was to study the perspectives of school principals regarding the dimensions and components of risky behaviors among high school students in the city of Ardakan. The research approach was qualitative, and the research method was grounded theory. The potential participants were the administrators of high schools in Ardakan during the academic year 2023-2024. The sampling method was purposive. Sampling continued based on theoretical saturation of the data until 10 participants were reached. The data collection method was semi-structured interview. The data were analyzed through coding and categorization at three levels: open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. To determine the validity of the data, the triangulation method was used. The results indicated that the causal factors included psychological-biological causes, belief-related factors, technological, cultural and social factors, adolescent identity formation, sociological, and economic factors. The intervening conditions included institutional factors, generational and communicative factors, while the contextual conditions encompassed general conditions, predisposed family conditions, disciplinary conditions, clinical conditions, and cognitive-communicative conditions. The strategies included effective intra-institutional therapeutic strategies, ineffective intra-institutional communicative strategies, extra-institutional strategies, and combined strategies. The outcomes included an increase in risky behaviors, clinical-psychological consequences, developmental consequences, and harmful consequences. The present study offers a comprehensive paradigmatic model from the perspective of Ardakan high school principals regarding students' high-risk behaviors. While emphasizing the systemic and complex nature of high-risk behaviors, this model reveals the necessity of simultaneous attention to individual, familial, institutional, and environmental factors in designing preventative and therapeutic interventions.

This study aimed to explore the lived experience of homesickness and coping strategies among female students residing in the dormitories of Allameh Tabataba'i University. Employing a qualitative approach based on Colaizzi's descriptive phenomenology, the research engaged twelve purposively selected female participants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Colaizzi's method. The findings revealed that homesickness is a multidimensional phenomenon influencing students' mental health, adaptation, and personal growth. From the data analysis, six main themes, nine subthemes, and forty-eight initial codes emerged. The main themes included "emotional and cognitive fluctuations", "inner transformation and change", "stepping out of safe boundaries", "lack of emotional connection", "structural limitations", and "individual and institutional coping strategies". The results indicated that although homesickness is accompanied by psychological distress, it can also serve as an opportunity for personal growth and independence. Coping strategies at individual level (such as goal reminder and inner dialogue) and institutional level (such as access to counseling services and provision of semi-private spaces) played a significant role in reducing tensions and enhancing the overall quality of students' lives.

Couple coping enhancement training is one of the new trainings for couples, which trains them how to cope with stress as a couple. Therefore, the aim of the research was the effectiveness of couple coping training (CCET) on we-ness and marital distress of distressed couples. The semi-experimental research method was a single-case analysis, and the participants were evaluated in the stages of baseline, training, and follow-up; Data analysis was done using Excel software for visual drawing, Reliable Change Index, and recovery percentage. The studied population was all distressed couples of Isfahan city in 1401, from among them a sample of eight people (four couples) was selected with purposeful sampling method. participants were evaluated using the Topco-Uzer we-ness questionnaire (2020) and the Marital distress Questionnaire of Wishman et al. (2009). The findings showed that people were able to experience a slight improvement in we-ness because of CCET, and these values were higher in women, but the effectiveness of couple confrontation training on the marital distress of 6 people (the first, second and fourth couples) Significant results were obtained in the follow-up phase. As a result, the couple coping enhancement training program was able to help reduce the marital turmoil of troubled couples; But in the case of we-ness, which is a deep feeling in a marital relationship and its requirement is to reach a common meaning and vision in the relationship, this training alone did not show the necessary effectiveness.

All segments of society need self-care, but among the segments of society, self-care is more difficult for women with a spouse with a spinal cord injury due to the many problems they have; this study was conducted to explore the lived experience of self-care in these women. The present applied research was of a qualitative phenomenological type. The population of participants in this study were all women who were the primary caregivers of their spouses with a spinal cord injury. The selection of participants was carried out using the snowball method until data saturation, and finally, in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 people. The Claise method was used to analyse the data. The qualitative data analysis of this study led to the identification of 3 main themes, 11 sub-themes, and 90 primary concepts. The main themes included: "self-care focused on oneself," "self-care focused on home, spouse, and family," and "self-care focused on the environment." The findings of this study showed that self-care in women with spouses with spinal cord injury is a multidimensional and important phenomenon, and understanding these experiences can be the basis for designing specialised and community-based support interventions so that, in addition to supporting the person with spinal cord injury, the mental and physical health of their caregivers is also seriously considered.

The instruction of prayer (Salat) and encouraging its performance among pre-adolescents is of significant importance from an educational perspective, as it is one of the key religious behaviors. The education for performing prayer encompasses cognitive, behavioral, and motivational dimensions that must be tailored to the age of the audience. The present study was conducted with the aim of developing an educational package for performing prayer based on a “Good-Choosing” approach, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methods. In the qualitative phase, the process involved preparing age-appropriate propositions from the term ‘Salat’ in Quranic verses, conducting a content analysis of prayer-related texts to enrich the package’s content, and designing and compiling the educational package itself. This design was specifically tailored to the developmental process of ‘good-choosing’ in children aged 10 to 12. Ultimately, the package was reviewed and modified by a panel of five experts. In the quantitative phase, the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and the Content Validity Index (CVI) were calculated to assess the protocol’s content. The content validity assessment by experts revealed that the total CVR for the protocol was 0.99 and the CVI for the sessions was 0.98, indicating that they meet the minimum acceptable threshold.This package, by fostering critical thinking and providing engaging strategies for instructors, aims to teach prayer as the ultimate good to girls aged 10 to 12.

This study aimed to design and validate a Coping educational package for Romantic Breakup based on God-Oriented Spiritual Multidimensional Psychotherapy. First, the Aetiology of Romantic Breakup was carried out in two stages—qualitative interviews with individuals experiencing Romantic Breakup and Islamic sources—using Bengtsson’s (2016) qualitative content analysis method; then the validation of the resulting findings was performed. After determining the Aetiology framework, the educational package was designed in 14 sessions of 60 minutes each, based on the Aetiology results and the God-Oriented Spiritual Multidimensional Psychotherapy approach. The validation of the educational package was examined using the opinions of 10 experts in two parts: Content Validity of the educational package and Feasibility assessment. The statistical population for the validation phase consisted of psychology specialists in Qom, selected through Purposeful sampling. The findings showed that for the Content Validity of the educational package, the mean Content Validity Ratio (CVR) of all sessions was 0.90 in the objectives section and 0.89 in the techniques section, and the mean Content Validity Index (CVI) was 0.93 in the techniques section, indicating that the educational package has appropriate content validity. Moreover, the Feasibility assessment findings showed that the educational package, with a total Feasibility mean of 3.83, has sufficient Intervention Acceptability & Suitability, Adaptation & Demand, Integration, Adaptability, Resources & Implementation, and Generalizability. The results of this study have provided a suitable basis for examining the effectiveness of the educational package and its use in reducing Clinical Symptoms resulting from Romantic Breakup.

One of the most important steps in the counseling process is ending the counseling relationship, and considering that the termination process is a vital part of the counseling process , the actions at the end of the sessions need special attention. This research was conducted by the counselors by thematic analysis method by studying how the process of ending counseling sessions. A semi-structured interview was used to collect information. The field of study was counseling who had at least five years of consulting experience. Participants were selected voluntarily and available, and interviews were conducted with 10 people and up to data objects. Data analysis was done through the 6-step method of Brown and Clark (2006). Through the analysis of interviews and the identification of sentences and phrases, the obtained frame themes were classified into the four main themes of the gradual steps of ending, the errors related to ending, the factors affecting the quality of the ending, the counselor's reactions to the ending were classified. The results showed that the counseling often do not act in a planned manner to end the meeting, despite knowing the steps to end, and closing the counseling process is not done according to the standard of scientific counseling resources.

The transition from the role of a couple to a parent is one of the most difficult transitions in the family life cycle, which affects the entire family structure by changing the roles of family. the most important turning point in the family life cycle. The transition period to parenthood is a period of challenges The purpose of this research examine the challenges faced by couples and their spouses' families during the transition to parenthood, i.e. from the decision to pregnancy to the child's infancy. The research was carried out using a qualitative method and 12 mothers were selected and participated in the purposeful and snowball sampling method. In this research, a semi-structured interview was used, and the data were analyzed using the Colaizzi's method. challenges faced by couples and their spouses' families during this period were categorized in the form of 7 main themes and 28 sub-themes: challenges from pregnancy to delivery, challenges of the mother after childbirth, health and child health challenges, the challenge of respecting boundaries and privacy, the challenge Imposition and coercion, the challenge of the wife's family with the groom, the challenge of the groom with the wife's family. Based on the findings of the research, it seems that the training and preparation of couples and families to enter the parenting period can greatly contribute to the improvement and health of the couple's relationship with their spouse's family, and as a result, increase the satisfaction of the couple and the mental health of the society.

The present study aimed to explore the lived experiences of the families of martyrs from the Twelve-Day Sacred Defense between Iran and Israel regarding the concepts of resistance and martyrdom. The research employed an interpretative phenomenological approach. Using purposive sampling, interviews were conducted with 15 families of martyrs from the Twelve-Day War, and data were analyzed following the method proposed by Diekelmann, Tanner, and Allen (1989). The findings were organized into main and subthemes clustered around core thematic categories. The main themes derived from the concepts of resistance and self-sacrifice included: the philosophy of life centered on truth; insight and conscious choice; agency and the desire to establish justice; self-sacrifice and prioritizing the welfare of others; the origin and essence of martyrdom; living in a martyr-like manner; the martyr’s family as a school and nucleus of moral upbringing; complementary factors in the culture of martyrdom; and obstacles to self-sacrifice and martyrdom-seeking. These themes were integrated around the central core of a God-centered lifestyle based on divine ontology. Such studies can contribute to understanding the worldview and lifestyle of martyrs as enduring cultural archetypes and serve as a guide for structuring and implementing programs aimed at promoting the culture of self-sacrifice and martyrdom in revolutionary Iranian society.

Mentalizing is a fundamental capacity for understanding one's own and others' mental states, playing a crucial role in the formation of romantic relationships. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of Mentalization-Based Intervention (MBI) and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) on mentalizing capacity and emotional style in couples. A single-case research design was employed, and the sample consisted of six couples, selected voluntarily, who were then randomly assigned to either the mentalization-based intervention or emotionally focused therapy group. Data were collected using the Mentalizing Questionnaire by Dimitrijević et al. (2017) and the Emotional Style Questionnaire by Kesebir et al. (2019) and analyzed through visual analysis, Reliable Change Index (RCI), and percentage improvement formula. The results indicated that both interventions were effective in enhancing mentalizing capacity and emotional style in couples; however, the mentalization-based intervention had a greater impact on mentalizing capacity, whereas emotionally focused therapy showed a stronger effect on emotional style. The findings indicated differences in the pattern of effectiveness of the two interventions across the cognitive and emotional domains of couples’ relationships.
