This study, aiming to formulate a coherent theoretical framework for Islamic psychology, explored three dimensions—definitions, subjects, and methodology—from the perspectives of experts. The research adopted a qualitative approach based on grounded theory. The research population comprised all reference sources in Islamic psychology and the views of 21 expert professors, who were interviewed using a semi-structured method. Data analysis was conducted with MAXQDA software through three stages: open, axial, and selective coding. To ensure the validity of the findings, a Kappa coefficient of 0.96 and a content validity ratio (CVR) of 0.87 were calculated. The findings revealed that the core of the definition aims at integrating the understanding of psychological processes with the spiritual-innate dimensions of the human being (40.8%). The subject of this knowledge was structured around the “psychological geography of the human being,” and “the self (nafs) and its functions” (32.6%) was introduced as the focal point of study. The methodological pattern indicates a “directed methodological pluralism”: qualitative methods such as religious content analysis are prioritized for gathering foundational principles (32.61%), quantitative methods are shifted to the stage of evaluation and field testing (19.57%), and the rational-ijtihadi method (11.59%) marks the distinctive boundary of this paradigm. Moreover, the high density of methodological requirements (31.88%) confirms a transition from scattered pluralism to coherent unification. The results indicated that Islamic psychology is an integrated knowledge, grounded in religious foundations and goals, and adopts a selective-critical approach to contemporary sciences—a science whose mission is understood as knowing, nurturing, and elevating the “self (nafs).”

The present study aimed to develop and validate a communication-based play therapy package to reduce behavioral disorders in students with reading learning disabilities. This qualitative research used content analysis methodology. The statistical population included psychology professors, specialists, and therapists, from whom 10 participants were selected using purposive sampling through semi-structured interviews until theoretical saturation was achieved. Data were analyzed using a three-step coding process: main themes, sub-themes, and open codes. The play therapy package was designed across 15 sessions and included three levels: Level 1 focused on games related to types and ways of initiating communication; Level 2 addressed games targeting different communication styles; and Level 3 involved games based on everyday life interactions. The analysis showed that the educational goals of each level were distinct and implementable. Findings indicated that the designed package had a significant and lasting impact on improving internalizing behaviors (such as anxiety and withdrawal) and externalizing behaviors (such as aggression and defiance) in children with reading learning disabilities. This package can serve as an effective therapeutic tool in both educational and clinical settings.

The aim of this study was to investigate the mediating role of life satisfaction and peer attachment in the relationship between social support and online gaming addiction in adolescents. The method of the present study was descriptive correlational. The statistical population was all male adolescents in distinct one and three of Tehran, from whom a sample of 220 people was selected using a multi-stage cluster random sampling method. The research instruments were the Huebner (1994) Student Life Satisfaction Multidimensional Scale questionnaire, Sherborne and Stewart's (1991) Social Support, Armsden and Greenberg's (1987) Peer Attachment, and Wang and Chang's (2002) Online Gaming Addiction questionnaire. The relationships between variables were tested using Pearson's correlation test and structural equation modeling using the partial least squares method. Results showed that there was a negative and significant relationship between social support and online gaming addiction, and a positive and significant relationship with life satisfaction and peer attachment. There was a negative and significant relationship between life satisfaction and peer attachment with online gaming addiction, and a positive and significant relationship between peer attachment and life satisfaction (P<0.05). Also an indirect relationship between social support and online gaming addiction was identified through life satisfaction and peer attachment, Therefore life satisfaction and peer attachment play a mediating role in the relationship between social support and online gaming addiction. It can be concluded that researchers in the field of Internet and online gaming addiction should emphasize the role of social support and peer attachment in planning preventive interventions.

Mentalizing is a fundamental capacity for understanding one's own and others' mental states, playing a crucial role in the formation of romantic relationships. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of Mentalization-Based Intervention (MBI) and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) on mentalizing capacity and emotional style in couples. A single-case research design was employed, and the sample consisted of six couples, selected voluntarily, who were then randomly assigned to either the mentalization-based intervention or emotionally focused therapy group. Data were collected using the Mentalizing Questionnaire by Dimitrijević et al. (2017) and the Emotional Style Questionnaire by Kesebir et al. (2019) and analyzed through visual analysis, Reliable Change Index (RCI), and percentage improvement formula. The results indicated that both interventions were effective in enhancing mentalizing capacity and emotional style in couples; however, the mentalization-based intervention had a greater impact on mentalizing capacity, whereas emotionally focused therapy showed a stronger effect on emotional style. The findings indicated differences in the pattern of effectiveness of the two interventions across the cognitive and emotional domains of couples’ relationships.

The aim of this research was to develop a theoretical model for the definitive biological celibacy of young people. This study was qualitative in nature and employed qualitative content analysis. Data was collected using document analysis, and for data analysis, the grounded theory method was utilized. Additionally, content validity (CVI) was assessed based on the opinions of ten expert specialists in the fields of psychology and sociology. Through three phases of open, axial, and selective coding, 17 main categories were extracted. The discovered categories included causal and contributing conditions (problematic personality types and psychological traits, disruption in the formation of sexual identity, changes in environment and the dominance of Western culture, rethinking attitudes and values regarding marriage, biological-physiological characteristics, the role of social capital relations in celibacy, and unfavorable economic conditions), contextual conditions (dysfunctional family systems, individualistic opportunities, and emotional and sexual alternatives to marriage), intervening conditions (family interventions, social interventions, cultural interventions, and misguided religious interventions), strategies (styles and coping responses to the decreasing appeal of marriage), and consequences (harmful celibacy and opportunity-creating celibacy). The central phenomenon derived from these categories was "the decreasing appeal of marriage among single youth." These findings can be utilized as strategic tools for planning prevention and intervention against this phenomenon by governing layers and cultural, educational, and media institutions

All segments of society need self-care, but among the segments of society, self-care is more difficult for women with a spouse with a spinal cord injury due to the many problems they have; this study was conducted to explore the lived experience of self-care in these women. The present applied research was of a qualitative phenomenological type. The population of participants in this study were all women who were the primary caregivers of their spouses with a spinal cord injury. The selection of participants was carried out using the snowball method until data saturation, and finally, in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 people. The Claise method was used to analyse the data. The qualitative data analysis of this study led to the identification of 3 main themes, 11 sub-themes, and 90 primary concepts. The main themes included: "self-care focused on oneself," "self-care focused on home, spouse, and family," and "self-care focused on the environment." The findings of this study showed that self-care in women with spouses with spinal cord injury is a multidimensional and important phenomenon, and understanding these experiences can be the basis for designing specialised and community-based support interventions so that, in addition to supporting the person with spinal cord injury, the mental and physical health of their caregivers is also seriously considered.

Anthropological attitudes underlie self-concept, self-esteem, and individual and social behaviors. Due to the lack of a standard educational package for the first period of elementary school, the present study aimed to develop and validate an educational package of anthropological attitudes for first to third grade students. This study was developmental-applied in terms of purpose and employed a mixed methods (exploratory design) approach. A 10-session educational package was developed based on five main themes extracted from previous qualitative research (human nature, differentiation from animals, purpose of life, beginning of life, and end of life). The validation of the package was conducted by 10 experts using CVR (Lawshe, 1975) and CVI (Waltz & Bausell, 1981) indices. The reliability of the package was calculated using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Results showed that the mean CVR of the entire package was 0.72, and the mean CVI was 0.91. Seven sessions (70%) had significant CVR and excellent CVI. Sessions 1, 3, 5, and 7 (CVR = 1) had the highest necessity ratings. The overall reliability of the package was 0.84. Session 9 (end of life) had the lowest scores (CVR = 0.40, CVI = 0.75). The educational package has desirable content validity and acceptable reliability. Sessions related to concrete concepts can be implemented without modification, but sessions related to abstract and sensitive concepts require redesign with a gradual and allegorical approach. Pilot implementation and redesign of sessions 4, 9, and 10 are recommended.

The present study aimed to predict self-compassion based on psychological well-being, meaning in life, and perceived psychological security in cardiac patients. This descriptive-correlational study was conducted on all cardiac patients (N=1946) referred to medical centers in Dezful, Iran, during the fall of 2021. Using Morgan's table and proportionate stratified sampling, 320 individuals were selected as the sample. Research instruments included the Self-Compassion Scale (Neff, 2003), the Psychological Well-being Questionnaire (Rajaei et al., 2011), the Meaning in Life Questionnaire (Steger et al., 2006), and the Perceived Psychological Security Scale (Zare & Aminpour, 2011). Data were analyzed using SPSS-23 software through multivariate regression and Pearson correlation tests. The findings indicated that the predictor variables (psychological well-being, meaning in life, and perceived psychological security) collectively explained 23% of the variance in self-compassion (p < 0.01). Specifically, the components of hope, optimism, and psychological security (at p < 0.01), followed by purpose, gratitude, and presence (at p < 0.05), had significant contributions in predicting self-compassion. Furthermore, a significant positive correlation was observed between all main study variables and their components with self-compassion (p < 0.05 and p < 0.01).Based on the findings, it can be concluded that enhancing positive psychological well-being, strengthening meaning in life, and increasing perceived psychological security can elevate self-compassion levels in cardiac patients. Keywords: Cardiac Patients, Meaning in Life, Perceived Psychological Security, Psychological Well-being, Self-Compassion.

The present study aimed to explore the communication patterns in families with children preparing for the university entrance exam. This research employed a qualitative interpretative phenomenological approach. The research field included students on the verge of the entrance exam in Sanandaj city during the years 2023-2024. Purposive sampling of the criterion sampling type was used, and participants were interviewed through semi-structured interviews. The data analysis was conducted using Diekelmann, Allen & Tanner's seven-step strategy. The data analysis led to the identification of 63 initial concepts, 11 secondary themes, and 4 main themes. The first main theme, communication space, included families characterized as balanced, exam-oriented, and indifferent. The second main theme, support styles, encompassed emotional, instrumental-technological, informational, and networking support. The third main theme, communication conflicts, involved inter-personal and intra-personal (generational) conflicts. The fourth main theme, coping strategies, included individual-centered and family-centered approaches. The findings revealed that balanced-oriented families, by fostering calmness and rational planning, enhance students' experience and diminish conflicts; Konkour-oriented families, through excessive control and unrealistic expectations, heighten stress and interpersonal conflicts; and indifferent families, by disregarding the situation, engender feelings of loneliness and confusion. Additionally, support styles (particularly emotional and systemic support) play a significant role in reducing intrapersonal conflicts. Considering the themes derived from this study, strategies such as improving communication methods, parenting styles, and informational environments related to the exam appear effective in managing existing challenges within families and overcoming this period, along with promoting psychological well-being for all family members.

The present study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP) on emotional literacy and emotion regulation among newly married female high-school students. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest and a control group was used. The statistical population included married female high-school students in the Razavieh district of Mashhad in 2024. Using convenience sampling, 20 participants were selected and randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups (10 participants in each group). The experimental group received eight 90-minute sessions of PREP-based communication skills training, while the control group received no intervention during the study period. In this study, “newly married” refers to girls who had been legally married for less than one year and had not yet started cohabitation. Data were collected using the Emotional Literacy Questionnaire (Kimiaei et al., 2012) and the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (Garnefski & Kraaij, 2006) and analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA). The results indicated that the PREP program led to significant improvements in emotional literacy and emotion regulation in the experimental group compared to the control group, while no significant changes were observed in the control group. Overall, the findings suggest that, within the scope of this study, PREP may serve as a supportive intervention in counseling and educational settings aimed at strengthening couples’ emotional skills during the early stages of marriage.
