The main mission of the university, considering its central role in the growth and excellence of society, is to strive for academic advancement and prevent or intervene in students' academic problems and challenges. The aim of this study was to conduct a phenomenological analysis of academic failure based on the lived experiences of undergraduate students. The research method in this study, considering the qualitative nature of the research and the participants in this study, was probationary students of Allameh Tabatabaei University of Tehran. According to the rule of theoretical saturation, 16 people were interviewed and the data were analyzed using the content analysis approach and the Claise method. A total of 256 themes were extracted, which were categorized according to the common meanings and concepts and 17 main categories and 88 subcategories. In order to have a more comprehensive and practical understanding, the main categories were grouped into four general categories: 1) factors affecting academic failure; 2) preventive requirements for academic failure; 3) effective interventions for academic failure; and 4) consequences of academic failure. All themes were organized into a core theme titled; "Academic dropout is a multidimensional phenomenon of academic-identity disconnection in which the student loses his/her meaningful connection with the learning process, the educational system, the future outlook, and the support network of family and society." Objective: The present study aimed to examine the effectiveness of brief Objecr relational therapy in reducing perfectionism among individuals with narcissistic personality traits. Method: This single-case study employed an A-B multiple baseline design with a one-month follow-up. The population included university students aged 18 to 30 who visited the psychological clinic of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad between January and April 2021. Purposeful sampling identified 3 participants with narcissistic traits among 17 visitors. Screening was conducted using the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI-III) and structured clinical interviews. Participants completed the MCMI-III and Hewitt Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale at baseline, sessions 5, 10, 16, and follow-up. Brief Object relational therapy was delivered in sixteen weekly individual sessions.Results: Visual analysis and percentage of non-overlapping data (PND) demonstrated that brief Object relational therapy effectively reduced both perfectionism and narcissistic traits. At follow-up, PND was 100% for the first two participants and 66% for the third, indicating treatment effectiveness.Conclusion: Findings suggest that brief Object relational therapy can be an effective approach to reducing maladaptive personality traits such as perfectionism and narcissistic traits, especially when they co-occur. These results support the application of this therapy in clinical interventions.

In recent decades, premarital relationships have emerged as a significant social challenge in Iranian society. Islam, as a comprehensive religion, recognizes the natural human needs while prescribing specific frameworks for interactions between the sexes, deeming any relationship beyond these boundaries as illegitimate. This study aims to identify and categorize the factors contributing to the formation of premarital friendships in Iran through a qualitative meta-synthesis approach. To this end, 18 relevant scholarly articles were reviewed and analyzed. The findings indicate that the factors influencing premarital relationships can be classified into three main categories: (1) Individual factors (including attitudinal, cognitive, and psychological dimensions); (2) Familial factors (including internal family dynamics, parental supervision, and parenting styles); and (3) Social factors (including cultural, environmental, media-related, and peer influences). The results suggest that this phenomenon is multifactorial and may lead to a range of negative consequences, such as academic decline, mental and emotional disorders, social harms, and difficulties in future marital life. Understanding these factors can assist policymakers and social planners in developing appropriate strategies to address this issue.

Man has always been searching for the meaning of life, but nowadays it has become more difficult for him to find it, so psychologists should help people in this way. Current research suggests that if people can see their lives in the form of a hero's journey story, they will find meaning in their lives and their flourishing will increase. In order to test this hypothesis, among the 50,000 mobile phone subscribers in Tehran and Karaj, 533 people (270 men) with an average age of 42 years were conveniently sampled and in an experimental design were randomly assigned into experimental group (whose life stories were restructured in the form of a hero's journey) and control group (who only wrote their life stories). The meaning of life was measured by Crumbaugh & Maholick's test (1964), the view of life as a hero's journey story by Rogers et al.'s scale (2023), and the flourishing by Diener et al.'s test (2010). T-tests showed that looking at life in the form of a hero's journey story, the meaning of life, and flourishing is more in the experimental group than in the control group, and conditional process modeling showed that reconstructing the life story in the form of a hero's journey (independent variable), has increased the meaning of life and flourishing (dependent variables) through looking at life in the form of a hero's journey story (mediating variable). Today, counseling and utilizing related services are considered one of the fundamental needs of individuals on the path to achieving personal and social well-being. The way individuals perceive this field directly affects the extent and quality of their use of counseling services. Accordingly, the present study was conducted with the aim of identifying the perceptions of employees of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) regarding counseling and its services. This research was carried out using a qualitative approach and phenomenological method. The participants included 12 employed men from the IRGC in Hamadan Province in the year 1400 (2025-2026), who were purposively selected. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and, after transcription, were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results of the data analysis led to the identification of seven main themes in the perceptions of IRGC employees regarding counseling and its services, which include: counseling as a supportive and trustworthy resource in conflicting and critical situations; counseling as a competency-based profession; a useful and effective profession; a profession based on expertise and skill; a profession based on trust; the necessity of attention to cultural and local components in providing counseling services; and finally, negative perceptions of counseling arising from individual and functional factors. Based on the findings of this study, counseling is perceived on one hand as a specialized, essential, culture-oriented, and acceptable profession, and on the other hand, it may be accompanied by negative attitudes influenced by the performance of counselors or personal and social factors.

Today, cyber threats are a major threat to societies and individuals, and if not prevented and controlled, they can have terrible consequences. Therefore, investing in the pathology of these threats is essential. The purpose of the present study was to synthesize and present a pathological model of these threats, namely online dating, violent games, and sexually explicit content. The research design is qualitative and the method is a synthesis study, in which the statistical population includes all scientific articles related to the three threats mentioned in the period 2021-2023 extracted from the ProQuest database and the sample included 37 finalized articles for analysis and review. Sampling was carried out by developing inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data coding and analysis were used during the research. The inter-rater agreement coefficient was 58 percent. The findings of the research indicate the categories (existing factors and threats, structural factors and threats - individual, social and moral consequences - macro consequences, factors of porn consumption, micro consequences), themes (threats of online dating, violent games and sexually explicit content) and finally the core category of cyber threat pathology. The results showed that awareness and identification of these threats are essential and management of consumption of different media for age groups, especially children and adolescents, is a must. Beyond these threats, the most important harm is the lack of proper use of media by individuals.

AbstractThe aim of this study was to investigate the effect of career adaptability on job anxiety considering the mediating role of future time perspective. The present study was descriptive - correlational based on the nature. method of implementation and considering the effect of variables in a kind of causal manner. The statistical population of this study was 960 nurses and treatment staff of Laleh specialized and subspecialty hospital in Shahrak-e-Gharb in Tehran. According to Cochran's formula, 274 members of the sample were selected. Simple random sampling method and data collection was done using documentary and field methods. Research questionnaires included Savikas and Porfley's job adaptability (2012), future job prospects of Zimbardo and Boyd (1999) and occupational anxiety of the UK Institute of Health and Safety (HSE). Amos software was used for data analysis. The findings of the study showed that job adaptability has a negative effect on job anxiety and a positive and significant effect on future time outlook. Job adaptability has a negative effect on job anxiety and future time outlook has a negative effect and reverse mediating effect on this relationship; it can be concluded that certain aspects of job adaptation resources can increase positive perception of the future and reduce negative emotional outcomes, and both may affect job-related behaviors.
