Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of career adaptability on job anxiety considering the mediating role of future time perspective. The present study was descriptive - correlational based on the nature. method of implementation and considering the effect of variables in a kind of causal manner. The statistical population of this study was 960 nurses and treatment staff of Laleh specialized and subspecialty hospital in Shahrak-e-Gharb in Tehran. According to Cochran's formula, 274 members of the sample were selected. Simple random sampling method and data collection was done using documentary and field methods. Research questionnaires included Savikas and Porfley's job adaptability (2012), future job prospects of Zimbardo and Boyd (1999) and occupational anxiety of the UK Institute of Health and Safety (HSE). Amos software was used for data analysis. The findings of the study showed that job adaptability has a negative effect on job anxiety and a positive and significant effect on future time outlook. Job adaptability has a negative effect on job anxiety and future time outlook has a negative effect and reverse mediating effect on this relationship; it can be concluded that certain aspects of job adaptation resources can increase positive perception of the future and reduce negative emotional outcomes, and both may affect job-related behaviors.
