The main objective of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of life review therapy with emphasis on Islamic ontology on decreasing the symptoms of PTSD. The statistical population of the research included all clients of a counseling clinic. The sample was 18 clients selected from those clients in one year and then randomly assigned into two groups: 8 as control and 8 as experimental group. Using an experimental research design, PTSD symptoms were assessed by PTSD questionnaire before and after an intervention. Analysis of t-test of the data showed that that the symptoms of PTSD were significantly decreased in the experimental group (α= /01). Findings also showed that the life review therapy with emphasis on Islamic ontology was effective in reducing the symptoms of PTSD.

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between perfectionism and five factor personality with procrastination. The sample was 300 students (190 females, 110 males) who completed Procrastination Assessment Student-Scale (PASS), Big Five Inventory (BFI), and Tehran Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (TMPS). Pearson correlation and multiple regression through simultaneous were used for analyzing the data. The results showed that there is a significant positive correlation between extroversion with conscientiousness and openness and a significant negative correlation with neuroticism. There is a significant positive correlation between procrastination with all of the perfectionism scales and neuroticism and also neuroticism with all of the perfectionism scales. The results of multiple regression analysis also indicated that neuroticism and perfectionism predicted significantly academic procrastination. The results and its implications are discussed in the article.

The aim of the present research was to study the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and attitude about mate selection as well as to determine the contribution of each schema in creating attitude in college students. This was a descriptive (correlation of prediction) kind of research. Early maladaptive schema domains were as predictor variables and attitude about mate selection domains were as criteria variables. Research sample was in the form of cluster sampling in which 122 students responded to Young Schema Questionnaire (YSQ) and Attitude about mate selection questionnaire. In this research, statistical method of correlation and regression analysis with step by step method was utilized. Findings showed that all domains of early maladaptive schemas in students have meaningful positive correlation with attitude about mate selection domains. Finding of regression indicated that entitlement/superiority and abandonment schemas are capable of predicting attitudes about mate selection in college students.

This study was conducted with the aim of comparison of two cognitive- behavioral methods (with an emphasis on Beck and Alices's pattern) and training time management strategies (with an emphasis on Luis and Tracy's model) in an effort to alleviate procrastination and perfectionism of university students. The sample consisted of 80 students who were identified as procrastination and perfectionism through a test tapping the same constructs. They were placed randomly into two groups: experimental and control. In order to avoid subject loss, all subjects were placed into three groups: cognitive-behavioral (n=27), time management strategies (n=27), and the control group (n=26). The results of a covariance showed that there was a significant difference between perfectionism and procrastination among the groups under study. Results also showed that procrastination and perfectionism dropped significantly in the cognitive- behavioral group and time management group in comparison with the control group. But, a significant difference was not found between the two experimental groups in terms of procrastination and perfectionism. We can say that both cognitive-behavioral method and time management strategies were effective in alleviating perfectionism and procrastination. But, the former was more effective although no significant differences were found.

The present study carried out to examine the effectiveness of therapeutic method of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) on social anxiety. 24 individuals were selected who refereed to psychological clinic and consulting center of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and had been diagnosed as social anxiety disorder on based on DSM-IV-TR criteria. Subjects were then assigned into two groups each with 12 members as experimental and control groups (7 females and 5 males in each group). At first, both two groups were evaluated by social phobia inventory (SPIN) and Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale (FNES). Then therapeutic method of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing was administered to the experimental group. At the end, two groups were again evaluated by two scales. Results showed that there are significant difference between mean of social anxiety (SA), avoidance, fear and physiological arousal on pre and post- intervention in experimental group (p<0/001). But, significant difference did not found between fear of negative evaluation on pre and post in experimental group. After to eliminate the effect of sex variable and SA, avoidance, fear, physiological arousal in pretest, also was shown significant difference in post-intervention on social anxiety, avoidance and fear (p<٠/٠٠١) but, wasn't shown any significantly difference between physiological arousal and fear of negative evaluation in both groups. According to these results, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing can improve social anxiety, avoidance and fear

Current study has been performed to examine the religiosity relation and mental health patterns of male and female students. The sample was consisted of 150 female and 150 male students who were selected randomly among Tehran University students. For data collection, this research has used Religious Attitude Scale of Khodayarifard et al (1386) and General health Questionnaire (Goldberg 1972). Data analysis was performed using Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient and Multivariate Analysis of Variance. Findings showed that all religiosity factors in female students have reverse relation with all mental health factors. Only the relation between religious emotions and affections with somatization and anxiety were significant. In male group, anxiety, depression, and general mental health had reverse significant relation with all religiosity subscales. The general profile and general mental health of Iranian male and female students were similar.
