Aim: This study is aimed at investigating the role of employment in the relation between existential crisis and life expectancy of the students at Allameh Tabataba’i University. Methodology: This study is of description – correlation nature. The statistical population is composed of two groups of employed and unemployed boys and girls who are master’s degree candidates at this university. The research sample comprises 200 subjects including 118 girls and 92 boys selected using convenience sampling method. In order to gather the data, life expectancy questionnaire (Simpson) and existential crisis questionnaire (Ahmadi and Dastgheib) were adopted. In order to analyze the data, Pearson correlation test was also employed for identifying the relation between the variables and Z-test was administered for demonstrating the intermediary role of gender. Results of Pearson correlation test suggest that there is a significant relation between existential crisis and life expectancy of boys and girls (sig. p<0.01). Results of Z-test indicate that people’s gender has no effect on the relation between their existential crises, life expectancies and attitude towards job but is effective in employment status. Conclusion: There is a significant relation between people’s existential crisis and life expectancy – the factors which influence people’s employment and unemployment.

Family businesses which have both high economic functions and high internal family coordination at the same time are among the most successful of this kind of business. This piece of research is aimed at exploring the relationship between family function and economic function in family businesses with a case study dealing with the machine made carpet industry in the cities of Kashan and Aran-o-Bidgol. The statistical population is composed of the managers of machine made carpet companies in Kashan and Aran-o-Bidgol from among whom 122 subjects were selected using the stratified random sampling method. The research method is of survey-correlation nature. Family function device (FFD) and economic function questionnaire (EFQ) were applied in data collection. The data were analyzed by means of Pearson correlation test, with the results suggesting a significant correlation between family function and economic function. Therefore, it is necessary for family businesses to promote and develop their family function and economic functions so as to grow more, maintain the ability for competition in carpet industry, preserve their invaluable heritages and transfer them to the next family generations, attempting to coordinate, interact and synergize family and business systems.

This study is concerned with the moderating role of life satisfaction in the relationship between resiliency and general health in a sample of students. 75 students from among those studying at the Islamic Azad University of Shahr-e-Ray (65 girls and 10 boys) were involved in this study and asked to complete Ego Resiliency Scale (ERS), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28). The research results indicate that there is a significant negative correlation between resiliency and satisfaction with life and the general health problems. Results of the analysis carried out on the chief and moderating effects based on the structural equations suggest that satisfaction with life could moderate the relationship between resiliency and general health problems of the students. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the relation between satisfaction with life and resiliency and genera health is not merely a simple one and the interaction between different variables could differently influence general health.

This study is mainly aimed at investigating the role of narcissism in predicting personality aspects, problem solving and psychological well-being. To this end, 180 people (102 girls and 78 boys) were selected from among the students at Payame Noor University of Guilan Province in the academic year 2013-2014 using the random cluster sampling method and completed the narcissistic personality inventory (Raskin and Terry, 1988), big five personality questionnaire (Costa & McCrae, 1989), psychological well-being questionnaire (Ryff, 1989), and problem solving styles questionnaire (Cassidy & Long, 1996). The data were analyzed by means of Pearson correlation and regression. Findings suggest that narcissism is capable, as an important psychological constituent, of predicting personality aspects, problem solving styles and psychological well-being in the students. Such findings help explain why people's narcissism is an important variable. Dealing with this constituent is recommended in research areas of personality psychology and social psychology.
