The aim of study was compare the effectiveness of the developed package of promoting couples' interpersonal relationships based on emotion-oriented approach and cognitive-behavioral marital counseling on marital attachment and commitment. The research method was quasi-experimental with pre-test, post-test and follow-up design. The statistical population included couples with marital conflicts who referred to counseling centers in Tehran, where 30 couples were selected by available sampling method and randomly divided into three groups (10 couples in each group). One group received 12-session training package to promote couples' interpersonal relationships based on emotional approach, and a group received 12 sessions of cognitive-behavioral marital counseling; but the control group did not receive any intervention. Research instruments included marital conflict, marital commitment and adult attachment scales. Research data were analyzed by multivariate analysis of covariance in SPSS-25 software. The results showed the emotion-oriented approach compared to the control group has a significant effectiveness and stability on all aspects of attachment and marital commitment (p <0.05) and compared to cognitive-behavioral marital counseling group, more effective on all three dimensions of attachment and structural commitment (p <0.05). Cognitive-behavioral group in post-test stage had a significant effect on two dimensions of attachment (avoidance and anxiety) (p <0.05) that these effects were not stable (p <0.05) but showed significant lasting effects on all dimensions of Marital commitment (p <0.05). The results showed that the use of the emotion-oriented approach compared to cognitive-behavioral intervention to improve attachment and marital commitment of couples with marital conflict has priority.

Marriage is the most important decision of an individual's life; and marriage satisfaction is also the main determinant of quality of life and mental health. Many researchers have tried to identify the factors affecting marital satisfaction and determine the relationships between them. The aim of this study was to investigate the fit of the structural model of the relationship between marital satisfaction, cognitive-moral foundations and marital commitment. The research method was descriptive-correlational by using structural equation modeling method. The statistical population was married men and women in Tehran. A sample of 230 people (122 females and 108 males) were selected by convenience sampling method. The instruments used included the Marital Commitment Questionnaire (Adams & Jones, 1997), the Moral Foundations Questionnaire (MFQ30) (Haidt, Graham, 2007), and ENRICH Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire (Olson et al., 1989). Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and structural equation modeling by using SPSS-21 and PLS-3 software. The results of structural equation modeling revealed that the model of relationship between marital satisfaction, marital commitment and moral foundations had a good fit. According to the results, higher levels of commitment and positive moral values could predicted the higher levels of marital satisfaction. The mediating role of marital commitment between the moral foundations of careing, loyalty, and sanctity with marital satisfaction was also confirmed. These results have practical implications for the design and implementation of psychological interventions for marital problems and by targeting moral foundations can promote the marital commitment and satisfaction.

Low levels of marital commitment can lead to profound problems in couples' relationships and can lead to hatred, jealousy, jealousy, competition, revenge, humiliation, lack of confidence and the like. The purpose of the present study was to compare the effectiveness of problem-based couple therapy based on Islamic approach and meta-cognitive-meta-cognitive couple therapy on marital commitment in couples referred to counseling centers in Sanandaj. The present study is an interventional and quasi-experimental research (pretest-posttest with control group) and is an applied research. The target population included couples who referred to counseling centers in Sanandaj . Due to the nature of the study population, voluntary sampling method was used to select the sample of this study and Adams & Jones (1978) marital commitment questionnaire was administered to them. Statistical analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was used. In general, the results show the effectiveness of both problem-based sexual therapy based on Islamic approach and meta-cognitive-meta-cognitive couple therapy on marital commitment. Therefore, these approaches can be used as a therapeutic paradigm as well as an educational model to prevent deepening conflicts and to improve couples' relationships through couple therapies.
