The purpose of the present study was to investigate the extent effectiveness of EMDR on the anxiety Speech and academic self-efficacy in students with social anxiety. The method of this study was experimental design with pre and post-test design with control group. The sample of the study was 30 students with social anxiety that were selected by simple random sampling among the students of the Persian Gulf University. They were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. Before and after the treatment, self-efficacy, anxiety Speech and social anxiety questionnaires were administered to the two groupsThe results of multivariate analysis of covariance showed that there is a significant difference between the mean post test scores of the experimental and control groups (p < 0.001), so that EMDR can reduce anxiety Speech, social anxiety and Improved academic self-efficacy. Therefore, we conclude that desensitization treatment through eye movement and reprocessing is effective in improving speech anxiety, academic self-efficacy and social anxiety.

The current paper aimed to determine the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral group therapy on reducing social anxiety and negative cognitive evaluation among hard of hearing young females. This was an applied study. Data was collected using quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest method with an unequal control group and a follow-up after one month. The population consisted of all hard of hearing young females residents of Mashhad working and training in Deaf community during 2015-2016. The convenience sampling method was used and the number of 16 samples were randomly selected, and then divided into two groups of 8, the experimental group and the control group, respectively. Next, the experimental group received 8 sessions, each session lasting 2.5 hours of cognitive-behavioral group training. Data collection tools were a) Social Phobia Inventory (SPIN); and b) Consequences of Negative Social Events Questionnaire, Wilson and Rapee (CNSEQ). Data were analyzed using Multivariate Analysis of Covariance. The results showed the significant impact of cognitive-behavioral group therapy on social anxiety and negative cognitive evaluation (negative self-assessment and perceived negative evaluation by others) on hard of hearing young females. Effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy on Social Anxiety and Cognitive Structures of hard of hearing people is associated with a lot of theoretical and practical implications in prevention and treatment that is discussed.

The present research aims to develop a treatment protocol by conscious raising based on the activation of the Islamic-spiritual schemas and compare its effectiveness with the process-experiential/emotion-focused therapy on decreasing the social anxiety of female students of Allameh Tabataba’i University. The sample population included 45 female students of the semi-attendance college, who were randomly divided into experiment 1, experiment 2, and control groups, each consisting of 15 subjects. The experiment groups separately received therapeutic interventions in 8 sessions. The research instrument was the Social Phobia and Anxiety Inventory (SPAI). The data were analyzed using covariance analysis and post-test. The results confirmed the first research hypothesis with the probability of 99%. The first hypothesis stated that consciousness raising based on the activation of the Islamic-spiritual schemas was effective on decreasing the social anxiety of female students. Moreover, the results showed that the process-experiential/emotion- focused therapy was effective in decreasing the social anxiety of the female university students. Thus, the second hypothesis was also confirmed with the probability of 99%. The third hypothesis, which predicted a significant difference between the effectiveness of the treatment protocol by consciousness raising based on the activation of the Islamic-spiritual schemas and the process-experiential/emotion-focused therapy on decreasing the social anxiety of female students was confirmed with the probability of 99%.

The present study carried out to examine the effectiveness of therapeutic method of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) on social anxiety. 24 individuals were selected who refereed to psychological clinic and consulting center of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and had been diagnosed as social anxiety disorder on based on DSM-IV-TR criteria. Subjects were then assigned into two groups each with 12 members as experimental and control groups (7 females and 5 males in each group). At first, both two groups were evaluated by social phobia inventory (SPIN) and Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale (FNES). Then therapeutic method of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing was administered to the experimental group. At the end, two groups were again evaluated by two scales. Results showed that there are significant difference between mean of social anxiety (SA), avoidance, fear and physiological arousal on pre and post- intervention in experimental group (p<0/001). But, significant difference did not found between fear of negative evaluation on pre and post in experimental group. After to eliminate the effect of sex variable and SA, avoidance, fear, physiological arousal in pretest, also was shown significant difference in post-intervention on social anxiety, avoidance and fear (p<٠/٠٠١) but, wasn't shown any significantly difference between physiological arousal and fear of negative evaluation in both groups. According to these results, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing can improve social anxiety, avoidance and fear
