The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of Adler's theory of self-efficacy, life satisfaction and emotional adjustment in conflicting couples in Tehran. The research method was experimental and pre-test and post-test design with control group was used. The statistical population of this study is the conflicting couples of Tehran city. According to the population of conflicting couples in Tehran, their total number was 20,000. Using Cochran formula to select the sample size, 384 individuals were selected as the sample, and among them, the couples who scored lower in the questionnaires, 50 were selected as the main sample, divided into two groups of 25 people. The data were collected by self-efficacy questionnaire Sherer et al. (1982), Life satisfaction questionnaire Diner, Immunes, Larsen and Griffin (1985) and Goranfsky et al. (2001). To analyze the data, one-variable covariance analysis analysis was used. The results showed that Shanker's method based on Adler's theory of self-efficacy, life satisfaction and emotional regulation of conflicting couples in Tehran was significantly more effective than the control group (P <0.001). Therefore, considering the educational effectiveness of the encouragement method, these interventions can be used in family counseling and psychotherapy settings. Keywords: Teaching method of encouragement, self-efficacy, life satisfaction, emotional regulation and conflicting couples

The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of emotional empathy and Successful Intelligence on marital satisfaction with Considering the moderating role of age. The study population consisted of all couples living in the city of Qom in May 1397. 165 people were selected by the Convenience method as a sample group and responded to Inrich's Marital Satisfaction Inventory (1989), the affective empathy scale of Mehrabian and Epstein (1972), and the Grigorenko and Sternberg intelligence scale (2002). The results showed that successful intelligence has a positive and significant relationship with marital satisfaction.Among the dimensions of successful intelligence, only practical intelligence has a positive and significant relationship with marital satisfaction.Regression analysis also showed that successful intelligence has the ability to predict marital satisfaction. But emotional empathy did not show a significant relationship with marital satisfaction. Also, examining the mediating role of age, the findings showed that age does not moderate the relationship between successful intelligence and marital satisfaction. According to the findings of the research, it is suggested that in order to increase the marital satisfaction of couples, in education, emphasis should be placed on the beliefs of the components of successful intelligence that increase the satisfaction of the marital life.

This study investigates the role of resiliency, spirituality and religiosity in predicting life satisfaction among the elderly of Baharestan city and also the weight of each of the predictor variables. In this descriptive- correlational research, 280 aged people in Baharestan city are selected based on a multi-stage cluster sampling. For data collections, questionnaires including Connor-Davidson (CD-RIS) resiliency questionnaire, spirituality / religiosity questionnaire by the United States National Institutes of Health, Diener’s Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and demographic features questionnaire are used. For data analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient and regression equation coefficients are used. Results show that there is a relationship between resiliency, spirituality and religion and life satisfaction. The regression equation coefficients shows that variables including resiliency, spirituality and religiosity are significantly able to predict life satisfaction (p<0/001). The low variance inflation factor (VIF) indicates that the predictor variables are not in-line. The resiliency is one predictor variables of life satisfaction, but it can be a strong predictor variable with the help of spirituality and religion.

The aim of this investigation is to compare the effectiveness of three treatments including diet, diet with exercise and diet with cognitive behavioral therapy on weight loss and improved life satisfaction in male employees with obesity and overweight in National Iranian Drilling Company. The statistical population consists of the National Iranian Drilling Company employees who are overweight or obese. Of the 235 volunteers, 60 are selected to participate in the study and randomly divided into three groups, each consisting of 20 people. This study is a quasi-experimental with pre-test, post-test and follow-up design. Weight and life satisfaction of subjects are examined by electronic weight scale and Diener’s Satisfaction with Life Scale three times. In order to analyze the data, covariance analysis and Repeated-measures test are administered using SPSS-19. The results show that using diet with exercise and diet with cognitive behavioral therapy methods leads to a significant weight loss while diet therapy alone does not decrease the weight significantly. Diet with cognitive behavioral therapy is more effective in weight loss than diet with exercise. Other results show that the treatment by diet with cognitive behavioral therapy is effective in increasing the life satisfaction. It can therefore be concluded that not only does diet with cognitive behavioral therapy cause weight loss like diet with exercise, it also enhances the life satisfaction in individuals.

The present research was conducted to develop instructional programs of Islamic morals & existential consciousness enhancement & compare their effectiveness on life satisfaction improvement. First of all, for formulating existential program ,different texts were monitored and common concepts among existential theoreticians specially May, Yalom & Frankle were chosen as a basis of the work. Corryís pattern of existential psychotherapy(2005c) was used for various stages of the program. For formulating Islamic morals program, the researcher used jame olsaadat by Naraghy (because of its relatively integrated theory & systematic structure), Javady e Amoly & Motahharysí ideas. The pattern for stages of this program is derived from change stages in Systems of Psychotherapy by Prochaska & Norcross (1994). The participants (45 students from Allameh Tabatabai University, the Faculty of psychology and education) randomly divided into 3 groups: existential, moral & control group. While experimental groups were given their instructional programs(Islamic morals and existential programs), no intervention was used for the control group. The methodology of this research was experimental. Life Satisfaction Scale (SWLS, Diener et al., 1985, with reliability 0/88 in Iran.) was used to measure life satisfaction. The results demonstrates that Islamic morals consciousness enhancement program improved life satisfaction but existential consciousness enhancement program was not effective .There was not any meaningful difference between experimental and Islamic morals group

The relationship between life satisfaction with general health and adjustment. Purpose of present study was to determine the relationship of life satisfaction with general health and adjustment. Static population of present study was including male high school students of tenth educational region of Tehran. The samples were including 225 student (75 students from ever grade ) which were selected by random sampling. Participants complete dyner life satisfaction questionnaire (a- %85), general health questionnaire (GHQ- 28) (a=%92) and sing and sinha adjustment questionnaire (a=%94). The results of person correlation show that the tree variables have high significant relationship with each other. Variance analysis shows that there was a significant difference in adjustment in first and second grade. Step by step regression analyses show that physical symptoms are the most important predictor of affectional and social adjustment have significant role in prediction of life satisfaction respectively. These variable capable predict 58 percent of variances of life satisfaction. With regarding the results we can conclude that high somatic health and high affectional and social adjustment are accompanying by life satisfaction in students.
