Although loss is a common shared experience among human beings, the broad variety of loss and different meaning people give it, makes its definition a challenging problem for researchers and psychotherapists who work with this phenomenon. In the present study, based on a qualitative and phenomenological approach, the definition and meanings of loss and the variety of experienced losses were examined in a sample of young people who live in Tehran. The sample consisted of 13 people who attended two focused groups and 8 people who were deep-interviewed individually. All sessions were recorded, transcribed and analyzed using Interpretive phenomenological analysis. Results revealed that young people’s definition of loss could be categorized in three major groups: losing something and/or someone that we had, emotional consequences of loss and losing the desired object. In addition, a variety of personal and interpersonal loss experiences such as death of a close person, family, romantic or friendship losses, economical losses, health-related losses and losses regarding to mental concepts were identified. Compared to the previous literature, the present study shows that losses have an even wider range and are strongly related to the culture and life experiences of the people who narrate them. The implications of these results has been discussed and suggestions for further research has been provided. it is essential that future research investigate the response to individual and social loss in terms of their similarity to the common reactions in grief.

The present research was done in order to determine the effectiveness of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy on internet game addiction intermediary variables with self-control and sensation seeking, in boy adolescents. This research was done by pretest-posttest kind of semi-experimental with a 45-day follow-up period. Population includes all the male high school students of Tehran, in the year of 2014-2015. 64 boy students that were dependent to internet games (based on modified Young's internet addiction test), were selected with convenience sampling method and then assigned in two groups (experimental and control). then the experimental group were divided to 4 levels based on sensation-seeking and self-control questionnaires. Experimental group received 8 sessions intervention based on mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). Data were collected by Zuckerman's sensation-seeking questionnaire, Tanji's self-controlling questionnaire, and modified Young's internet addiction test, and data were analyzed by One-Way Co-variance (ancova), and Mix-variance. The results generally showed that MBCT is effective in reducing internet games addiction. In addition, MBCT had not made a significant impact in the group with high self-control and low sensation-seeking's grade, but in the other groups, treatment had a significant effect. Thus it can be concluded that mindfulness based cognitive therapy through mediation variables, self-control and sensation seeking has been effective in reducing internet game addiction.

This research is descriptive and cor relational - predictive. The population of the three groups of mothers of children with separation anxiety disorder, disorder OCD, and non-consulting centers of Tehran has been formed. In this study, sampling method and sample size of 450 patients (150 per group). Tools of study sizes and styles (Psdq), Bell Object Relations adult attachment (Finney and Nvlr, 1994) and the Structured Clinical Interview (SCID), respectively. Analysis and data for questionnaires confirmatory factor analysis to test the hypothesis of a structural equation model (SEM) were used. The results showed that CV-red indicator shows that the quality of the model, for all the dependent variables is positive, indicating a good quality model. AVE also represents good values as well as diagnostic validity of the model structures.According to the criteria Wetzelu and et al (2009) show overall structural model is able to predict and test the predictions of endogenous latent variables has been successful.

In recent decades, many studies have examined the relationship between job stress and personality variables. But the results are not consistent and sometimes different results have been reported. Meta-analysis is a systematic technique to solve different resultsin the findings studies about the same topic.Accordingly, the aim of the present research was a meta-analysis of the association between job stress and personality variables. Data collected from 106 studies conducted from 1993-2013 and was analyzed then the effect sizes were computed.Findings revealed that the combined effect size for fixed model was 0. 23 and for random model was 0. 24, which both were small effect sizes) Cohen, 1988). Further meta-analysis showed that the Positive affect, anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, time management, hardiness, resiliency, assertiveness variables had significant large positive effects size on job stress. We checked for Publication bias and heterogeneity of effects. The results showed no bias but due to heterogeneity of effects, demographic and methodological variables were examined . Findings revealed that sampling, kind of job, kind of studies and Measuring tools could moderate the relationship between job stress and personality variables as the moderator effects. The overall results suggested that personality variables that emphases on self-understanding have more impact in reducing job stress. Therefore, a further study in this area is needed.

Introduction: Low levels of emotional regulation, resulting from the inability to effectively cope with and manage their emotions, may play a role in the onset of drug use. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effectiveness of teaching emotion regulation based on Gross model on reduction of anger among drug-dependent people. Method: This research is part of a pilot pretest- posttest project carried out on a control group. All the addicts who referred to addiction clinics in the city of Marivan from 2012 to 2013 were examined. Among them, a total of 30 drug-dependent individuals were selected by simple random sampling with the same method which was used in the test and control groups. Results were analyzed using analysis of covariance. Results: Overall, the results showed that education of emotion regulation based on Gross model can reduce the signs of anger in substance dependent individuals (p<0/001). Conclusion: Problems concerning emotion regulation is one of the difficulties in front of drug-dependent people and learning how to express their emotions and manage individuals can be effective in reducing these problems.

Schema theory is developed for patients with chronic psychological problems who have not achieved significant success in cognitive therapy. Although this approach has been applied mostly to personality disorders, it can also be a useful treatment for depression disorder. Therefore, the aim of this study is to show whether or not schema therapy is effective in the treatment of recurrent major depressive symptoms. This single-case experimental study is carried out with the method of multiple baseline on six patients who are all diagnosed with primarily a DSM-IV recurrent depression disorder. Patients are tested in four points in time; pre- treatment, in the 4th session, the 8th session, and the 12th session (post- treatment). Instruments used are Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Short Form of Young Schema Questionnaire (YSQ) and Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Axis I Disorder (SCID-I). The findings show that schema therapy plays a role in improving the symptoms of recurrent depression disorder and early maladaptive schema during the treatment. The results of the present study indicate that schema therapy could be effective in treating recurrent depression disorder. Thus, by identifying depressive schemas, they can be treated and reformed with interventions focused on the schema.

The present research was conducted to investigate the level of ego impairment in parents with schizophrenic children and compare it with that of parents with normal children using Rorschach ego impairment index. Method: ten parents (father or mother) with schizophrenic children were selected using sampling methods, and were compared with ten parents of normal children who were similarly selected using sampling methods. Once the subjects were selected, Rorschach test was implemented on parents in both groups, and after the participants’ protocols were coded, the Rorschach ego impairment index, and the grade for each subject was calculated in the index. The results were analyzed using t-test for significance of the difference between independent means. Findings: findings indicate that the level of ego impairment in parents with schizophrenic children is significantly higher than that in parents with normal children. Results: findings suggest that parents suffer impairment in functions relating their ego. Ego impairment causes inefficient cognitive and behavioral pattern.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of schema therapy in decreasing the maladaptive schemas of women with social anxiety disorder. The research method was a single-case experimental design with multiple baselines. Five patients were selected using purpose sampling method. They attended in 20 sessions of therapy individually according to Young's schema therapy model. The instruments used in this study were tests of social anxiety and Young Schema Questionnaire (YSQ: long form). The improved diagnostic method and clinical significance were used for analyzing the data. The results showed that Young's schema therapy model reduced the activity of the early maladaptive schemas significantly in all areas of schemas. The results of follow-up showed the treatment had been persistent and effective. The Young's schema therapy model can be used for the treatment of chronic mental disorders that early maladaptive schemas play a primarily role in their persistance.
