Although loss is a common shared experience among human beings, the broad variety of loss and different meaning people give it, makes its definition a challenging problem for researchers and psychotherapists who work with this phenomenon. In the present study, based on a qualitative and phenomenological approach, the definition and meanings of loss and the variety of experienced losses were examined in a sample of young people who live in Tehran. The sample consisted of 13 people who attended two focused groups and 8 people who were deep-interviewed individually. All sessions were recorded, transcribed and analyzed using Interpretive phenomenological analysis. Results revealed that young people’s definition of loss could be categorized in three major groups: losing something and/or someone that we had, emotional consequences of loss and losing the desired object. In addition, a variety of personal and interpersonal loss experiences such as death of a close person, family, romantic or friendship losses, economical losses, health-related losses and losses regarding to mental concepts were identified. Compared to the previous literature, the present study shows that losses have an even wider range and are strongly related to the culture and life experiences of the people who narrate them. The implications of these results has been discussed and suggestions for further research has been provided. it is essential that future research investigate the response to individual and social loss in terms of their similarity to the common reactions in grief.

Purpose: This research aimed to analyze adolescents` motivational factors for using virtual social media. Method: This research was conducted using the qualitative approach of phenomenology type. For this purpose, 17 female adolescents aged 14 to 16 who were dysfunctional in the use of social media were selected using a purposeful sampling method based on criteria. The research was conducted through semi-structured interviews. Finally, the data were coded and categorized and the results were expressed using the method of narrative reporting. Findings: The analysis of experiences led to the identification of 7 main themes, including the symbiotic relationship with peers, omnipresence, emotion regulation, idealization versus normalization, social comparison, function, and response to existential-humanistic issues. each of them included 5, 7, 8, 4, 5, 15, and 3 sub-themes respectively. Conclusion: The results show that adolescents' problematic use of social networks is not motivated by newness or fashion, but purposefully and motivated by the fulfillment of basic needs (autonomy, competence, and communication). Therefore, in addition to recognizing the needs and motivations of adolescents, the authorities must use the technological opportunities of social networks to respond to their neglected needs in the real world. Also, counselors can take preventive measures or design targeted technological content for them by considering the motivations of adolescents.

Physical, psychological and environmental disorders that people experience in old age facilitate the elderly's tendency to cyberspace and social networks. The purpose of this study is to analyze the mental health in cyberspace elderly users. The method of the present study is qualitative based on the Phenomenology. The population of the study included all men and women over 65 years from Tehran. Sampling method was purposive & chain sampling in which 6 elderly women and men were selected in order to participate in the study and interviewed as well as analyzed. All interviews were recorded and finally analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's systematic analysis method (1990). They took refuge in cyberspace to escape from these afflictions. Twelve semi-structured interviews were conducted. The analysis of the interviewees' statements resulted in identifying 19 open codes and five central codes (loneliness perception, elderly absurdity, unrealistic attitudes, wandering in life, and excitement immersion). These findings indicate the prevalence of a range of psychological disorders in the elderly, which revealed the need to pay attention to this dimension as well as the design of educational and treatment programs to reduce these disorders. The statements of the interviewees also indicated the fact that cyberspace and drowning in it were not the cause of these discomforts, but the group took refuge in cyberspace to escape from these discomforts.

Aim of the present study is review of conversation analysis study in counseling and psychotherapy. Informative value of the quantitative method is limited to investigation of process and effects of counseling psychotherapeutic treatments of any types of psychological disorders. Concentration in mean and standard deviation of both experimental and control groups remotes researchers from pure therapeutic events. Reduction of the efficacy study on significant differences between experimental and control groups devaluates the underling structures of therapeutic relationship. To solve this vicious spiral, Application of the conversation analysis as a qualitative method is recommended for study of dual therapeutic relationship. Conversation analysis there is under the title of discourse analysis that helps counselor to overcome to speech tars. It criticizes the psychological method of observation in counseling thus this effects good analysis of counselor-client relationship and their dialogue presumptions. This article introduces conversation analysis and its coding system and applications
