The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between popular concepts of abnormal attention to self and to develop a conceptual process model of those concepts in Islamic sources and to assess its validity. Both qualitative and quantitative methods have been used for this purpose. In the qualitative section, first, using semantic domains method collected from 262 related words, 3105 Islamic narratives were analyzed using purposeful sampling based on saturation principle. The final narratives were analyzed using the qualitative content analysis method of Sieh and Shannon (2005) through conventional content analysis and three open, axial and selective coding steps. Subsequently, the causal components of the components were merged and the relationships between the components, the causal conditions, and the consequences were examined and the initial process model was designed. In the quantitative section, the degree of consistency of the coding findings with the documents and the degree of fit to the components were validated by 11 experts, and the degree of consistency between the findings was correlated with the documentation by 5 experts by calculating the content validity index. The findings of the research showed that combining the common causal conditions of not knowing one's self or its status, not knowing God or His status and self-giving independently leads to self-indulgence and on the other hand combining the causal specific conditions of selfishness, self-esteem, intrinsic interest in Visibility and infiniteness create three components of self-efficacy, self-efficacy, and self-enhancement. Also, each of these components are self-generating cognitive-behavioral consequences.

The current study aimed to explain the impacts of the “performance model of donation” on the reduction of “fear” and “sorrow” according to Islamic sources. The study tried to answer “what performance model allows donation to reduce fear and sorrow in human beings?” The above question was investigated among the Quranic verses and hadiths based on the theory of “semantic field”; thus, the Quranic verses and hadiths related to donation, alms, stinginess, miserliness, and generosity were investigated. The class analysis was applied to understand the components psychologically. The obtained components were classified in groups titled “orientations”, “behaviors”, “experiences”, and “functions”. Investigating the components in the above classes revealed that the lack of sorrow and fear is an internal experience and is not in complete agreement with external objectivities. If a donation is performed according to the Quranic approach and is in line with the above four classes of components, it will bring about certain “psychological functions” and “developmental impacts”; one of such “psychological functions” is “the reduction of sorrow” and “the reduction of fear” in the donator.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women and the second cause of death from cancer. This disease is associated with psychological distress, anxiety, emotional distress, and depression. Therefore, the importance of psychological interventions is revealed to reduce the stressful consequences of breast cancer. The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of spirituality therapy with acceptance and commitment therapy in reducing existential anxiety in women with breast cancer. The research method was quasi-experimental with the pre-test and post-test design and a one-month follow-up with two experimental groups and one control group. The population included women who were referred to the specialized women's cancer center of Khatam al-Anbia Hospital, among them 45 women who had a score of 1.5 standard deviation above the mean on the existential anxiety scale were identified and randomly assigned to three groups and completed Good and Good existential anxiety scale. The first experimental group underwent eight sessions of spiritual therapy and the second experimental group underwent eight sessions of acceptance and commitment therapy. The data were analyzed using MANCOVA and ANOVA with repeated measures. The results showed that the effect of the two methods of spirituality therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy on reducing existential anxiety in women with breast cancer was significant, and there was no significant difference between the effectiveness of the two methods on existential anxiety. It is suggested that health psychologists use spiritual therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy to reduce existential anxiety in breast cancer patients.

The aim of the present study was to critique the anthropological foundations of the theory of the client-centered of Karl Ransom Rogers. Rogers had a optimistic and positive view about man. According to Rogers, man is basically a rational, social, progressive, and realistic whose most important motivation is self-actualization. In this direction, the basis and criterion for action is self-organization. We do not need to worry about human antisocial traction because they are not innate in humans and are tributary. Also, man is not able to acquire definite knowledge of external reality, and everyone has his own perception of reality. However, according to Islam, human beings are valuable in nature and have inherent dignity and can attain acquired dignity. In addition to the positive aspects, man also has the downward aspects that must be balanced in the shadow of religion and nature spirit. It is also possible to attain knowledge and acquire it, and the instructions of the religion regarding the acquisition of knowledge, thought, and sectarianism indicate this. Also, self-actualization in Rogers' theory focuses on the biological aspects of human beings, while according to Islam, moving in the direction of servitude and the goal of creation with a divine motive will lead to human self-actualization and closeness (nearness) to God.

The aim of the current study was to investigate the different aspects of identity among the students of Tehran universities with a focus on the role of sexual differences. The statistical community included all the students who were studying at Tehran universities. The sample entailed 1000 persons that were selected by stratified random sampling. Religious, national identity scale and the revised questionnaires on identity style were the means of the study. Multiple- variance analysis of variance was applied for the analysis and interpretation of data. The findings of this study represented that the female group has achieved a higher scale in information, norms and commitment of identity in comparison to the male group. Whereas, the male group showed a higher mean in the sub-scale of diffuse/avoidance; the female group showed a higher mean in all the sub-scales of national and religious identity. On the whole, the present study revealed that all the sub-scales of identity in religious, psychological well-being, informative, normative and commitment aspects in female students are higher than male ones while, the diffuse and avoidance identity were higher in the male students. Generally, these findings proved psychological and social disorientation among the male students in comparison to the females. Since the male population (community) of the society is considered as more active and dynamic, this issue needs the serious consideration of those in charge.
